EVALUATION
Overall I feel as if this project has taught me many things, some positive and some negative.
Firstly, I am really pleased with how my website has turned out - although it may not be finished I am still very proud of it. When I began this project I didn't even have a clue what 'Muse' was let alone be able to freely use it. I have learnt so much and had lots of creative freedom, a thing which I really enjoy.
Initially, I had a couple of ideas that I would have liked to do, however the record shop was my first and favourite one. The other idea was a sweet shop in Hunstanton called 'Candy & Cream'. I liked the thought of doing this as I love sweets ( I mean who doesn't ) and there is
a very consistent pink theme in the shop meaning I could have carried that on through to my website. They also had a very basic website meaning they most likely would have let me update it, the only downside being that Hunstanton isnt too local and I would have wanted to go there and see them which was not possible.

I feel as if the record shop was definitley my best choice as it was the most achievable and the one that I was most interested in. I love music and it is one of my passions so naturally with the freedom of being able to choose my own website I chose something music related. The biggest website inspiration I used was cereal killer cafe and that is what most of my research was on. I love the website and think it's fun and easy on the eye without being too in your face crazy. My research into this website (and a couple of other similar ones) really helped me when it came down to designing my very own website. Also by creating a moodboard it helped me to visualise what my end product was going to be similar to. I feel that this side of my research went really well and helped me in the long run. However I didnt do enough research on creating websites and website styles I liked, this is because I thought that I had done enough looking into the cereal killer cafe. This set me back a bit when it came down to beginning my website because all though I had mood boards and could visualise what I wanted the project to look like I really struggled with the layout and actually beginning it. I also didnt take into consideration that I had to make my own logo etc, this took some time to do so therefore didnt end up finishing the website like I had planned to as I ran out of time.
A key thing I have highlighted throughout all of these projects is my time managment. If i would have taken into consideration every little thing that had to be done in detail and planned ahead how long it would have taken me to do these things I believe that this project would have been completely finished. Although I had planned what I wanted to do with the website and knew when I was going to start it it was the finer details that set me back. Despite the fact that this is a negative point in this particular project I will be taking this on board and usuing it to my advantage in the next project. Now I have registered that this is a big weakness of mine I will turn it into a strength of mine and plan way ahead to make sure it is a hurdle that I wont fall at again early on.

Initially, I had the idea of a dropdown box on the website I was creating however I didnt have the tools and did not realise what was available due to my lack or research. By spending a lot of time dwelling on my idea and what i wanted the project to look like visually I neglected the fact that I was about to use a new software that I had never used before and quite possibly should have done some research into it. Even by wathcing a couple of tutorials on youtube would have helped my grasp a much bigger understanding of the software, next time I would do this and if i was stuck definitley ask for help instead of trying to be as independent as I normally am. Nevertheless I am very pleased with the outcome of the website by usuing a new software and have now developed a new skill in learning that.
From this project I will take both the positives and negatives on board when it comes to producing my final major project. I will improve my time management and look into more research and planning documents. On the other hand I will also take in the positives and realise how much I have learnt from this website - I have now learned how to use a new software and have produced a website that I am pleased with (even if its not completley finished).
